Walk

On Sat., April 18, 2015, the 8th Annual Armenian Genocide Walk took place in historical Philadelphia at the Independence Visitor Center providing an opportunity for the entire Philadelphia community to gather to commemorate the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. The day kicked off with the “They Shall Not Perish: The Story of Near East Relief” traveling exhibit and Centennial “March to Justice” social media campaign, followed by the walk and a program featuring host Eva Pilgrim of 6abc Action News, with keynote speaker Phil Holtje of the Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center, State Senator Daylin Leach, Congressman Patrick Meehan, mayoral hopeful Doug Oliver, Ara Chalian, and performances by students of the Armenian Sisters Academy and the Meghry Dance Group. We were also pleased to have representatives from the Jewish and Greek communities present, including Rabbi Gabbai of Mikveh Israel, Gratz College, and Stockton University,  Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Thank you to the 400 attendees who came to support our cause and for all of your contributions! Please see below for the booklets, event photos and coverage by 6abc Action News. Booklets
